PARSIPPANY, NJ – The Sparta High School girls cross country team had another good showing last week at the meet at Greystone Park.  After being sidelined with an ankle injury for the first few weeks of the season, Nuala Hynes returned without missing a step according to Coach Sarah Pisano.

The girls defeated the NJAC division defending champion Morris Hills team.  They also outpaced Montville.

Against Montville in the 5000 meter run Sparta finished first and third through eighth place.  The Spartans ended up winning 19-44.

Against Morris Hills Sparta finished third, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth.  Sparta won by three 27-30.

The girls have moved to 3-1 with one more NJAC meet for the season.  They run again on Tuesday, September 24 at Central Park in Morristown.
