SPARTA, NJ – On Friday the Sparta High School girls lacrosse team edged out Madison on Veterans’ Field 19-15. 

It was a big game for Kaitlin Mead with seven goals.  Alex Curran found the net five time.  Jackie Hallack was right behind her with four goals and three assists.

Julianna McGuire contributed with two goals, Hailey Mead got one.

Madison Levinson was in net for Sparta with four saves.

Coach Kate Brennan said, "I'm super proud of our kid's effort today. They played with a lot of heart and guts against a very good team.We have to play mature and play smart. Today's that's exactly what we did."

Sparta’s top scorers so far this season are Meade with 39 goals, Alex Curran has 27, Hallack has 23, Julianna McGuire has 20.

Hallack also has 10 assists, Curran has 7, McGuire and Meade have 6, Bayleigh Takacs has five.

Sparta leads the Freedom North league with a 6-3 record,
