WANAQUE, NJ – Sparta High School girls lacrosse has moved easily through the first two rounds of the NJSIAA North Section 1 Group 2 tournament, beating Lakeland 13-6 and Ramapo 21-8.

The number two seed Lakeland semifinal  game was played on the Lancers field on Monday. The Spartan effort was led by Brianna Falco and Kaitlin Mead with four goals apiece.  Meade also won eight faceoffs.

Bayleigh Takacs added three goals and an assist.  Hailey Mead had three assists and won four faceoffs.

Madison Levinson had 16 saves in the win.

On Friday, Sparta hosted Ramapo for the start of the tournament.  Ramapo was the six seed. 

Kaitlin Mead put up nine goals, two assists and won 14 faceoffs.

Falco had five goals, three assists and won seven faceoffs. Courtney Klein contributed three goals. Haliey Mead had two goals and eight assists in the game.  Lauren Neufeld and Takacs each got one by the Ramapo goalie.

Levinson had eight saves against the Raiders.

Third seed Sparta moves into the finals where they will face Indian Hills in the finals on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Indian Hills.
