VERONA, NJ - The Sparta girls lacrosse team got win number 13 when they defeated Verona, 17-9, on Thursday.
Goalie Madison Levinson was the story during this game as she made 12 saves to insure the victory for her team. Jacqui Hallack and Kailtin Mead each scored six goals and contributed an assist. Mead added nine grounballs won to her scoreline.
Hailey Mead has a goal, two assists and nine groundballs. Lauren Neufeld had a goal and an assist.
Bayleigh Takacs, Julianna McGuire and Courtney Klein each had a goal in the game. Sparta's ability to start fast and have many players score goals is a massive strength. They can count on multiple goals from the Meads and Hallack but to get a goal each game from four or five other players will help them get far in the end of season tournaments, which start next week.
Sparta is now 13-1 on the season and are still undefeated in the league. The quarterfinals of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament are on Tuesday.
