Sparta Girls Lacrosse Win Quarterfinal Match in Hunterdon Warren Sussex Tournament

SPARTA, NJ - The Sparta girls lacrosse team defeated Kittatinny in the quarterfinals of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tri-county tournament, 26-5, on Tuesday.

As has been a trend all season, the girls started strong with 15 goals in the first half. They had a modest 11 goals in the second half. Modest only on their standard.

Jacqui Hallack led the way with seven goals and one assist. Kaitlin Mead had five goals, five assists and 12 groundballs. Bayleigh Takacs had four goals and two assists.

Hailey Mead had three goals, two assists and eight groundballs. Lauren Neufeld had two goals and three assists. Brianna Falco had two goals, an assist and five groundballs. Julianna McGuire had a goal and two assists. Paige Ryan and Audrey Krajicek had a goal each. 

Goalie Madison Levinson had five saves in the game,

Sparta is now 14-1 on the season. They play Northern Highlands on Wednesday.

SPARTA, NJ – Two people from Dingman’s Ferry are facing charges for drugs and other issues after a traffic stop on Route 15.  On March 16 around 12:45 a.m. Cpl. Marc Rubino stopped Cory Parker, 34, for failing to keep right, police report.

SPARTA, NJ – A traffic stop yielded an arrest for driving with a suspended license for a Franklin woman.  On March 13 around 11:30 p.m. Sparta Police Officer Timothy Lynott stopped Christina Bradford on Route 15 for having a broken tail light on her gray GMC pickup, police report.
