SPARTA, NJ - Sparta's varsity baseball team lost to Jefferson at home by a score of 5-4 on Monday afternoon. Sparta is now 6-4, playing next at Pope John on Wednesday, April 23.

Sparta softball also lost to Jefferson on Monday by a score of 3-2.  It was a home game for Sparta, played in Station Park.  Kim Puccio was the losing pitcher, going seven innings and giving up seven hits. Alex Heim went 3-for-4 and Amanda Johnson went 2-for-4. Shannon Monahan got a walk, a hit and an RBI.  Gretchen Bowie also drove in a run for Sparta. 

Sparta's softball team is now 7-4 and will play Pope John  at home on Wednesday, April 23 at 4 p.m.
