NEWTON, NJ – Sparta High School baseball took down Kittatinny on Thursday afternoon 7-2.  Matt Guerra was on the mound for all seven innings for the Spartans.  Throwing 92 pitches Guerra got seven strike outs and gave up only eight hits and one walk.

Guerra helped himself from the other side of the plate as well, going 2-for-4, scoring twice.  Cole Patten also batted .500 scoring twice and earning an RBI.  Eric Castorina was in the .500 club too, with a stolen base, adding one to the score.

Thomas Ferrara, going 1-for-3 crossed the plate as well.

With the season winding to a close the Spartans are hosting Newton on Saturday.
