SPARTA, NJ – Sparta baseball dominated Morris Hills on Tuesday winning 11-1. Playing on Cassel’s Field, Cole Patten earned his first win on the season going five innings.
Patten had five strike outs and walked two. He helped the team from the other side of the plate as well, going 4-4, putting up three points with two RBIs.
Matt Guerra went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Eric Castorina had two hits. In the bottom of the sixth Castorina got on base with a double. A Guerra single in the bottom of the sixth drove Castorina home moving the score to 11-1, ending the game early.
Matt Sigillo and Ronan Jarvis both went 2-for-3 with three RBIs each.
Sparta will take their 2-0 record to Newton on Friday.
