SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School boys lacrosse dominated Lakeland 22-2 in the first round of the NJSIAA Group 2 tournament game.  Playing on the turf field at Station Park Sparta held Lakeland to zero through the first three quarters.

It was a team effort with 13 different Spartans putting it in the net.  Jesse West and Luke Wilson each had three goals.  West had two assists Wilson had one as well.

Luke Bushey, Stelior Kroudis, Russell Eberding and Ollie Sears each added two to the score.

Evan Johnson, Patrick Milliken, Brendan Cina, Kevin Berlin, Jack Lenowski, Joe Russo and Troy Schmitzer each contributed a goal.

Eberding also won all 11 faceoffs and snagged six ground balls.  Colby Plotts and Aidan Maxwell each grabbed four ground balls. 

Reed McCall had three saves.

Fourth seed Sparta will host fifth seed Jefferson in the quarterfinal game on Saturday.  The Spartan season record stands at 9-8.
