SPARTA, NJ - While it is becoming familiar, it will not likely be boring when the Sparta High School football team takes on Old Tappan on Saturday at Cassles Field for the semifinal game in the NJSIAA North 1 Group 3 tournament.  Seeking to continue their undefeated record of 10-0, the Spartans will clash with the Golden Knights whose season record stands at 8-2.

"This is a huge game for our team," Sparta Head Coach Frank Marchiano said. "Old Tappan is a well coached program with many athletes on the field. These are the games you practice long and hard for. It should be a great game."

Top ranked Sparta has scored more than 40 points in nine of their 10 games.  Fourth seed Old Tappan’s losses have come from a close game with Wayne Hills and a shutout at the hands of Ridgewood.
