SPARTA, NJ - Sparta High School girls basketball team hosted West Milford, beating them 38-29 on Saturday afternoon, putting up 20 points in the second quarter.

Brianna Falco led the lady's effort with 13 points;  four 2-pointers,  a three pointer and two free-throws.   She contributed with three rebounds and a steal as well.

Erin Scott had three 2-pointers, three rebounds and a steal.

Beth Laing added a two pointer and three free-throws. 

Erin Walsh and Paige Smith each grabbed seven rebounds.

The last time the Spartan's faced the Highlanders was when they beat them in a scrimmage.  "We had to come out tough because teams improve as the season goes on," Emily Lake said. "We came out slow but got stronger and pulled it out in the end."

"The key to our team is that we all contribute," Jackie Dowd said.  "We have a deep bench." 

Sparta now has a 5-4 record, putting them in second place in their division behind Jefferson.  They will play Montville at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
