SPARTA, NJ- The Sparta High School girls cross country team is looking to repeat the successful 2019 season where they finished with a record of 6-1.

In her eighth year as head coach, Sarah Pisano said, “Despite having a smaller team, we have a strong core group of returners.”

According to Pisano, 11 runners graduated last spring.

  • Erin Takach
  • Maura O’Hare,
  • Sophie Regembal,
  • Cora Moriarty,
  • Laura Johnson,
  • Sarah Yarnall

New to the team:

  • Veronica Codjoe,
  • Kayleigh O’Brien,
  • Emma Reder,
  • Reese Smith

“After a very successful 2019 season as the NJAC National Division Champions and NJ Herald Team of the Year, we are looking to remain competitive in our league,” Pisano said.

The girls will have their first meet on Friday October 2, competing in Central Park in Morristown.
