OAKLAND, NJ- Sparta High School girls lacrosse has won the NJSIAA tournament title in a crushing victory over Indian Hills 22-7.  The game was played on number one seed Indian Hills turf on Thursday.

"The girls were awesome, simply awesome, from start to finish," Coach Kate Brennan. "Heart, smarts, guts, and finesse. It was really and truly incredible." 

Kaitlin Mead led the Spartan effort with nine goals and three assists.  She also won 10 face offs.

"We are all so excited to have won the sectional championship back to back years," Mead said.  " will definitely be a memorable moment that our team and coaches will hold on to especially as we continue on in the state tournament. As for the six seniors on our team, we can all agree that it was an amazing way to end our high school lacrosse careers." 

Her four year varsity career goal total has climbed to 354, with 89 career assists and scooping up 289 ground balls.  This year Mead won 144 faceoffs.

Brianna Falco found the net five times and had four assists.  She also won three faceoffs.

Bayleigh Takacs and Hailey Mead contribute with three goals and one assist each.  Courtney Klein had two goals and an assist. 

Madison Levinson had seven saves.

Sparta finished the season with a record of 11-7.
