SPARTA, NJ- The Devils Hockey team recognized New Jersey high school ice hockey captains on Sunday night.  Together with more than a hundred high school players, Connor Dericks, Walter Frimberger and Matthew Mayer took to the main ice at the Prudential Center in Newark.  Student athletes were an impressive sight dressed in their team jerseys.  The line of players stretched from one side of the ice to the other on all three center lines.

Before walking onto the ice the boys and girls gathered in a conference room 'back stage', eating macaroni and cheese and hot dogs,  watching the first period of the Devils game on big screen television monitors.

"It was cool to be on the ice where the Devils play and to see all of the off ice equipment.  I enjoyed sharing the experience with all of the other captains.  It was memorable," said Sparta High School captain Connor Dericks.
