NEW YORK, NY - Students from the Sparta High School photography classes went on a Photo Safari to Grand Central Terminal. Photography teacher Christine Mase took the intermediate, advanced and AP students on the trip to the New York landmark where they were able to visit special locations.
The excursion allowed the students to gain experience with on-location and street photography according to Mase. It also "provided AP students the opportunity to widen their knowledge and develop their portfolios," Mase explained.
"It really was a once in a lifetime experience," Mase said.
Two New York City Photo Safari photographers led the students for two and a half hours offering instruction on using digital cameras. The instructors explained photographic techniques to best capture some of the unique subject matter in the terminal. The company is also donating two cameras to the high school photography program.
The Sparta High School PSTO contributed funds to help defray the cost of the trip for the students.
