SPARTA, NJ – It was a perfect evening for an outdoor concert.  The evening was made even better because of the cause.  Sparta High School students got together to continue to raise funds to support the therapy dog program at their school.

The latest effort was a concert at Dykstra Park on Friday evening.  A nice crowd of students, parents and even school staff came to the lawn in front of the Nicholson Pavillion.  For $5 they were able to enjoy music presented by the high school students.  There were a couple of bands and some solo artists as well.

Stanley, the dog of the hour, was also there with Guidance Director founder of the therapy dog program in Sparta Kacey Dalton.

Stanley survived the hit and run accident that took the life of his buddy Franc.  Franc was the first dog to walk the halls of Sparta High School.  Stanley appears to be healing well from his surgery that made repairs to his face.

Stanley will soon be joined by Melvin, also a French bulldog.  Melvin is currently being trained to come into service in the district next year.

The students also set up a gofundme page
