Sparta High School Swim Team Splits Against UNLV

KITTATINNY, NJ - The Sparta Girls and Boys Swim Teams split against United Newton Lenape Valley (UNLV). The girls won 95-75 to improve their record to 4-1-0 and the boys lost 105-63 to decline to 3-2.  The Sparta girls took a small lead in the beginning of the meet and never relinquished it.

In the first half, the meet was close, but in the second half with a 1-2 finish in the 500 free followed by a first place finish in the 200 free relay and a 1-2 finish in the 100 Back and the girls took a resounding lead that UNLV could not overcome.

The Sparta boys were unable to overcome the undefeated UNLV team. The combined UNLV team more than twice the size of Sparta’s boys with a great deal of talent.  The Spartans could not penetrate UNLV’s lead, despite some great swims by Sparta.
