SPARTA, NJ - Sparta High School volleyball set up a win for their home opener against Morris Catholic, finishing 2-0.  They took the first set 25-15 with the second going to 25-20. 

Erin Scott put up a big game with 12 kills, eight blocks and two aces.  .  Paige Smith got eight kills and 10 digs.  Talia Smith was credited with 16 assists and three blocks.  Michelle Scaglione contributed with three kills and a dig

Jessica Esso had five aces and five digs. Emma Bova had two kills and three digs.  Sophia Sandgran added 14 digs to the Spartan effort.

The Sparta team record is now even at 1-1 having lost their season opener to Roxbury on Thursday, 2-0. 

The girls will host Montville on Monday at 4 p.m.
