SPARTA, NJ – Sparta high school boys' soccer shut out Pope John on Monday at home.  The final score was 3-0 in a strong Spartan showing that included seven saves from keeper Scott Altiere.

Gianluca Bivona, Rob Pantini and Thomas Radon all found the net.  Pantini also added two assists and Radon had one.

Sparta boys' season record stands at 2-3-1 as they prepare to take on Parsippany Hills on the road on Thursday.

Sparta High School girls' soccer traveled across town to beating Pope John 4-1.  Captain Taylor Nolan scored twice.  Daniella Montesano contributed a goal and three assists.  Cayleigh Glew also scored. 

Sparta girls' season record is now 5-1.  They will host Parsippany Hills on Thursday with a 4 p.m. start in Station Park.
