STOCKHOLM, NJ – Sparta High School ice hockey team had their second shut-out of the week on Saturday. Facing off against Gill St Bernards at Skyland Ice World, Sparta ended the game early in the third period when they reached the score 10-0.
Brendon Erickson had a hat trick by the second period. His first and third goals were assisted by Connor Erickson, his second was assisted by Jeremy Dericks and John Redding.
Connor Erickson had two unassisted goals in the first period. Nolan Kafafian scored twice; the first assisted by Matt Redding and the second unassisted. Andrew Lopuch had an unassisted goal.
Dericks scored in the third period assisted by John Redding and Mike Holovak. The final game ending goal came from Sergie O’Sullivan on an assist from Lopuch.
Sparta had 48 shots on goal while Sparta’s goalie saw only four.
Sparta’s record now stands at 4-4 and will play Livingston on Tuesday.
