STOCKHOLM, NJ – Sparta High School Ice Hockey team beat Vernon on Saturday night at Skylands Ice World.  Mike Holovach scored the first two goals with an assist from Brandon Erickson and John Redding on the second.

Nick Clayton also scored in the first period.  The score remained 3-0 until half way through the third period when Jonny Baker found the back of the.  Vernon’s Ray Zimmerman scored for Vernon making the final score 4-1. 

Sparta Goalie Ryan Bartholomew had thirty saves.

Their record is now 2-1-1. 

The Spartans and Vikings will come together again in the Sussex Cup on Dec 26 at 6 p.m. at Skylands Ice World.
