STOCKHOLM, NJ - Sparta Jefferson United beat Madison on Saturday afternoon at Skylands Ice World 6-4.  The newly formed co-op team celebrated their seniors as well.

Jaxon Mase earned a hat trick with the first two goals of the game and the game winner in the third period. 

Matt Redding, Jeremy Dericks and Zack Harmel each contributed with a goal and an assist.  Connor and Brendan Erickson and Mike Reilly all had an assist as well.

Logan Hanek was in goal for SJU stopping 35 Madison shots.

SJU has a season record of 10-4-2 with a division record of 5-2-1 putting them in second place in the Halvorsen division behind Roxbury. 

Before the game Seniors  Jeremy Dericks, Brendan and Connor Erickson, Zack Harmel, Mike Holovak, Mike and Nick King, Steven Parker and Matt Schlomann  were honored. Team statisticians Kelli Mae Anderson and Lauren Mitchell were also recognized.

SJU will travel to Wayne on Wednesday to play a non-league game against West Milford.  The puck will drop at 7:45 p.m.

One Injured in Two-Family House Fire in Newton
