STOCKHOLM. NJ – Sparta Jefferson United high school ice hockey team is off to a good start with another win against Mendham on Saturday afternoon.  SJU defeated Mendham 5-1 at Skylands Ice World.

C.J. Leonardo led the SJU effort with a hat trick and an assist for four points in the match-up.  Jaxon Mase added two.  Nick Montone, Sergei O’Sullivan.  Spencer Schroepher each contributed with an assist.

In net for SJU,  Logan Hanek stopped 24 Minutemen shots.  Mendham’s goalie had to defend 46 shots total on the outing.   

Sparta will host Morristown-Beard next Saturday, December 9 at 4 p.m.
