SPARTA, NJ - A Sparta man is facing charges after having been found by Sparta Police urinating in the Lake Mohawk Country Club parking lot. On February 16 around 3 p.m. Detective Brian Hassloch and Detective Jeff McCarrick went to investigate a complaint of a suspicious person in the parking lot, according to police.
When they arrived they found a man Gregory Heisler , standing near his car with the car door open. He appeared to the detectives to be urinating, police report.
When Hassloch spoke with Heisler the detective suspected the Sparta man was intoxicated. Hassloch had an Police Officer Steve Guido take over the investigation. Guido had Heisler perform field sobriety tests and then took him into custody, police report.
At Sparta Police Department Headquarters Heisler was processed and breath tested. He was charged with DWI, DWI in a school zone and careless driving. He was released several hours later to a sober adult pending a court date.
