SPARTA, NJ – A Milford, Pennsylvania man was arrested for drunk driving when it was seen swerving on Route 15. On July 29 around 2 a.m. Sparta Cpl. Kurt Morris stopped Russell Fowler driving a blue Toyota, according to police.
When Morris spoke to Fowler, the officer smelled an alcoholic beverage and Fowler was slurring his words. When Sgt. Hannam and Cpl. Scott Elig arrive to assist, Fowler was given a field sobriety test, police said.
Fowler was taken into custody and transported to Sparta Police Department headquarters. Fowler refused a breath test once he got there.
Fowler was charged with DWI, refusal to take breath tests, careless driving and failure to maintain lane. He was released to another adult pending a court date.
