SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Police Department had special visitors on Monday morning.  A group of people from SCARC came for a tour of police headquarters.  Sparta Police Officer Dave Pridam and Officer Thomas Snyder conducted the tour for the visitors from SCARC, a local organization that provides care for people with developmental disabilities.

The group gathered in the lobby and then went in to see the dispatch center “to see where 911 calls go,” Pridham explained.

The next stop on the tour was the patrol room and then to the lock up area.  The visitors were interested in seeing the cells as well.

Peter even brought his own handcuffs, which he apparently always has with him, according to Debby of SCARC.

Next up for the group is a Hoe Down on Friday complete with “chili for lunch.”
