SPARTA, NJ – In what has become a familiar story, a Dover man is facing drug charges after getting stopped on Route 15 for not having functioning license plate lights. Sparta Police Officer Steve Guido pulled over a 2004 Jeep on the northbound side of Route 15 around 2:20 a.m. on April 6, according to police.
When Guido spoke with Mostafa Douban, 23, smelled burnt marijuana. He searched Douban’s car and found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police report.
Douban was taken into custody and transported to the Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.
Douban was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also ticketed for maintenance of lamps, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to notify motor vehicle commission of address change.
He was released pending a court date.
