SPARTA, NJ – A woman parked in Station Park after the park was close is facing drug charges. Nicole Alonzi, 35, was found sitting in her 2002 Mercury by Sparta Police Cpl. Marc Rubino on May 10 around 9:20 p.m. according to police.
When the officer told the Odgensburg resident she had to leave the park, he smelled burnt marijuana. When Rubino asked Alonzi about the smell, she admitted to having a glass smoking pipe in the center console of the car, police report.
Rubino took the pipe and placed Alonzi under arrest. She was taken to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.
Alonzi was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also ticketed for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Alonzi was released pending a court date.
