SPARTA, NJ – A Lafayette man is facing drunk driving charges after another motorist reported an erratic driver. On July 27 around 7 p.m. Officer Matt Pletcher went to the Lafayette Road area of Route 15 looking for the reported gray Nissan, police said.
Eventually Pletcher was able to get Krzysztof Grodzicki, 63 to stop after seeing him drive past the officer’s location, police said.
Pletcher suspected Grodzicki was intoxicated after speaking with him. The officer had Grodzicki perform field sobriety tests and then took him into custody, police said.
After bringing Grodzicki to Sparta Police Department Headquarters, the Lafayette man was processed and charged with DWI, consumption in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, police said.
Grodzicki was given a court date and released to a sober adult. His car was impounded for 12 hours as required.
