SPARTA, NJ – An East Windsor man is facing drug charges after getting stopped for a missing front license plate.  Sparta Police Officer Steven Guido stopped a black Dodge Durango, driven by Andres Carillo on February 25 around 11 a.m. police report.

While the officer was speaking with Carillo, Guido smelled marijuana.  Carillo said he had smoked pot the night before and there might be a pipe in the car.  Sparta Sgt. Schomp arrived to help as the car was searched, police said.

The officers found a wooden marijuana pipe and a ziplock bag containing marijuana. Carillo was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters.  He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unclear plates, obstructed view and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Police report.

He was given a court date and released.
