SPARTA, NJ – An unlicensed New York man is facing charges after a traffic stop on Route 15. On September 16 around 11:30 p.m. Officer Taylor May stopped Chazmon Lloyd, 30, of Valley Cottage, New York.
Lloyd was stopped because he did not move over when passing May who was on the shoulder for another traffic stop. After May was finished with his initial stop, he pulled Lloyd over, police said.
Lloyd did not have a driver’s license to give to May. When the officer checked, he found Lloyd had a New York license in the past but did not currently have a license. May also found that Lloyd had a warrant from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, police said.
Lloyd was taken into custody and brought to the Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing. Lloyd was charged with failing to move over when passing a stopped emergency vehicle, unclear plates, unlicensed driver and failure to produce a driver’s license.
Lloyd was given a court date in Sparta and Upper Saddle River, served his paperwork and released.
