SPARTA, NJ – Sparta police patrols have recently taken two people into custody on outstanding warrants. On August 19 around 8:30 a.m. Police Officer Steven Guido stopped a speeding car on Route 15. The driver, Daniel Montgomery of Denville had an outstanding warrant for non-payment of child support, according to police.
The 52-year-old was taken into custody and eventually picked up by Union County Sheriff’s department. Montgomery was charged by Guido with speeding and driving while suspended. He was given a court date.
When patrolling the Glen park on August 20 around 8:45 p.m. Sparta Police Officer Thomas Herd found a car still in the parking lot after the park was closed. A check of the license plate showed an outstanding $275 warrant in Franklin Lakes. The owner Louis Kent of Sussex, was found and taken into custody, according to police.
The 20-year-old posted full bail on the warrant and was released pending a court date in Franklin Lakes
