SPARTA, NJ – A New York man is facing drug charges after being stopped for speeding.  On October 15 around 11 p.m. Officer Brian Porter stopped John Finch on Route 15 for driving 77 in a 55 MPH zone, police said.

When Porter spoke with Finch the officer smelled pot in the car.  Finch admitted marijuana had been smoked in the car earlier and he still had a small amount of pot on him, police said.

A search of the car turned up two ziplock bags of marijuana.  Finch was taken into custody and transported to the Sparta Police Department Headquarters for processing, police said.
