SPARTA, NJ – A Frankford resident is facing drug charges after being stopped for a broken windshield and not having a front license plate.  On June 20 around 10 a.m. Police Officer Arlene Lippencott pulled over Adam Johnson on Route 15 south for the equipment violations, police report.

When Lippencott spoke with Johnson, the officer smelled marijuana in the car.  Johnson admitted to the officer he had just smoked pot but that there was one in the car. Other officers arrived to assist, police report.

Johnson gave Lippencott a medicine bottle that contained marijuana.  The officers searched the car and found drug paraphernalia police report.

Johnson was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.  He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, cracked windshield and no front plate.

Johnson was released with a court date.
