SPARTA, NJ – An Oak Ridge resident is facing drug charges after getting pulled over for a broken headlight.  On February 4 around 8:29 p.m. Sparta Police Officer Steve Guido stopped Kyle Neuschatz in his 2011 Charger on Stanhope Road, according to police.

When he approached the 21-year-old driver, Guido smelled raw marijuana.  Neuschatz handed a plastic bag of marijuana when Guido asked about the smell, police report.

Neuschatz was taken into custody and brought to Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing.

Neuschatz was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and ticketed for maintenance of lamps and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

He was released pending a court date.
