SPARTA, NJ - A Stanhope man crashed his car on the Route 15 ramp and ended up charged with driving while intoxicated on August 4 around 1:24 p.m.  Sparta police officer Erick Finley went to the scene of the accident and found Joseph Boralsky had disabled his car by crashing into the curb, according to police.

When the 29-year-old approached Finley the police officer smelled alcohol on his breath.  Boralsky told Finley he had had a couple of beers, police report.

Cpl. Rubino also went to the scene to assist as Finley administered field sobriety tests to Boralsky.  Boralsky was taken into custody and brought to the Sparta Police Department headquarters for processing, according to police.

Police Officer Timothy Lynott administered a breath test at headquarters.  Boralsky was charged with DWI and careless driving.  He was released pending a court date.
