SPARTA, NJ –In the past few weeks Sparta police have arrested several people with outstanding warrants. On September 27 around 10 a.m. Sparta Police Officer Thomas Herd stopped a car because of a non-compliant license plate cover. The driver Raymond Riddick, 37, of Newark was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license. Herd also found Riddick to have an outstanding warrant in Bloomfield, police report.
RIddict was taken to Sparta Police Department headquarters where he was charged with improper display and driving while suspended. He was given a court date in Sparta and Bloomfield.
On September 26 around 11 a.m. Sparta police got an anonymous call about two people with outstanding warrants. Livingston resident Desiree Bennett, 32, and Sussex Boro resident Matthew Lubrano, 26, were both wanted by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department, police report.
Sparta police officers went to the home where the caller said the two could be found. They took Bennett and Lubrano into custody and brought them to Sparta Police Department headquarters where they were held until the Sheriff’s Department officers could come get them.
