SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta police are asking the community for help in locating a person of interest in several car burglaries.

Police have released two photos; one of the man they are seeking to identify and the other of a vehicle police believe may be connected to the suspect.  They believe the suspect may have driven the car when the burglaries took place.

 According to Sparta police purses and Christmas gifts had been taken from cars in Sparta.

Sparta Detective Jeffrey McCarrick said the “break-ins have occurred in several locations around town.”  There were two incidents in December and “possibly a third dating back to July,” but that is yet to be confirmed according to police.

McCarrick said police are “unaware of reports from other towns with similar incidents.” The investigation is ongoing.
