SPARTA, NJ - The Sparta Public Library ran a six week summer reading program for young children.  Youngsters entering Pre-K through sixth grade who particpated were  motivate  to read, encourage regular use of the library and enable children to maintain their reading skills during summer vacation.

The program offered weekly raffles, story times and craft laboratory. There was fun for the whole family with  family movies and family programs such as Mad Science, Kurt Gallagher and Rizzo's Reptiles.

Participants were also able to find Einstein weekly to enter the summer raffle. Thanks to all the participants, the library reporst there were 592 journals turned in as part of the program.  The children read an impressive 4706 books.

 The program is held every summer. Registration begins each June.
