Mohawk Avenue School PTO is hosting lunch and a movie in the gymnasium for the school’s third graders. Those who have registered they will enjoy a pizza party with their classmates in the cafeteria and then watch the movie Home Alone together in the gym.
MAS PTO President Tammy Mongon said, “We set up this event as a nice way for the students to do something together on an afternoon where their teachers have an in-service. The $5 charged for the event will be used to purchase pizza and water. Any leftover money will be used to purchase gift cards in conjunction with the gift card drive and paper links sale we did this week. The links are hanging as a decoration in the school. All gift cards will be given to Sparta families in need.”
As of Thursday morning there were approximately 140 students registered to participate.
The Helen Morgan School PTO is sponsoring an afternoon at the Field House. This event was also scheduled to offer an activity for the students for the Friday afternoon while the teachers have their in-service training. The children will be able to take advantage of the indoor turf field to play games with their friends.
