SPARTA, NJ – The summer 2018 road resurfacing program is underway. Several Sparta roads are scheduled to be treated the week of August 6 according to the township.
- Morning Star Drive and Maxie Lane are scheduled for August 6.
- Carriage House is scheduled for a second application on August 7.
- Friendly Lane, Trapasso Drive, Village Green, Lewis Lane and Knox Road are all scheduled for August 8.
According to the township the vendor Asphalt Paving systems will be notifying residents in an affected area with a minimum of 48 hours notice. Work is to be done between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The township will be paving six road and 26 roads will be treated with a microsurfacing process that is faster to apply and less expensive that traditional paving. When completed 12 miles of roadway will have been improved in 2018 according to the township.
Once construction begins on a residential road, it will be closed to all traffic for approximately three hours. Township officials ask that arrangements be made to park all vehicles off the street while this work is being done.

Slated for microsurfacing treatment but yet to be scheduled:
- Rose Lane,
- Natasha Court,
- Stonebridge Road,
- Boulder Ridge Crossing,
- Crystal Rock Road,
- Sir Arthur’s Court,
- Lake Shore Drive,
- Pleasant View Drive.
According to the township several roads have already been completed:

- Pegasus Trail,
- Saddle Ridge Road,
