SPARTA, NJ – Sparta Township awarded bids to spend more than $500,000 to improve municipal roads. There were two separate resolutions to award two contractors.

The council approved $214,500 to Tilcon for milling and paving Conestoga Trail from State Road 181 to Hunters Lane.  The pricing was secured through the Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council. 

The second resolution went to Asphalt Paving Systems, with pricing secured through the New Jersey State Cooperative for $300,976.  The “microsurfacing” process will be done on at least 20 township roads:

  • Christy Lane,
  • Fox Trail Road,
  • Ginger Lane,
  • Heather Lane,
  • Lambert Drive ( Starrett Court to Prides Crossing)
  • Lancer Street,
  • Margaret Terrace,
  • Meredith Drive,
  • Mills Ridge Road,
  • Millstone Court,
  • Nazarene Lane,
  • Old Cedar Lane,
  • Patricia Lane,
  • Silver Lane,
  • Spring Avenue,
  • Starrett Court,
  • Sunrise Court and
  • Tracey Lane. 

The funds for these projects were earmarked in the municipal budget.
