SPARTA, NJ -  According to the Sparta Police Department the Red Cross will be providing meals at the following locations today from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

SPARTA, NJ - Due to ongoing issues related to the winter storm, all Sparta schools will be closed today, Thursday, December 5, according to school officials.

According to the Sparta Police Department the following roads are closed:

West Mountain- no change/access from 94 to Greenfield okay...closed Scudders to 250 block
Glen Road- no change
Houses Corner- no change

SPARTA, NJ- The Sparta schools will be following a delayed opening schedule for Tuesday, December 3.

School hours are:

Sparta High School – 9:15 a.m. until 2:24 p.m.

Sparta Middle School – 9:40 a.m. until 2:40 p.m.

Helen Morgan School – 11 a.m. until 3:35 p.m.

Mohawk Avenue School – 10:50 a.m. until 3:25 p.m.

SPARTA, NJ - Sparta public schools will be closed on Wednesday, December 4.

SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Police Department is participating in We’ve Got You Covered, an initiative to collect new sheet sets and blankets for local families in need in Sussex County. 

They can be dropped off at the Sparta Police Department from December 1 through December 8 and 5 West Shore Trail on December 7 from 5 until 8 p.m.

The collection will be brought to Benny’s Bodega in Newton. 

NEWTON, NJ - Birth Haven is a shelter for Homeless Pregnant Women and their Babies located in Newton, NJ. It is a privately run, non-profit organization providing shelter, support and education for their residents.
