SPARTA, NJ – Sparta High School wrestling coach Frank Battaglia got win number 100 at the quad meet on Saturday when they defeated Demarest 61-12.

"The team wrestled tough today in our three wins,” Battaglia said. “It's so exciting to see how far the program has come. I am lucky to have two great assistance coaches in Dan Trappe and John Procopio.   We work well together and get stronger as a coaching staff each year. I look forward to many more exciting seasons.

In Sparta’s home gymnasium they went on to put down Pascack Hills 55-19 and win over Wallkill Valley 51-24.

Sparta wrestling stands at 13-5 for the season.  They will take on Pope John on Wednesday in the Lyon’s gym beginning at 7 p.m.

JCP&L Latest Information, Free Ice and Water

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – As of 8:47 p.m. JCP&L is reporting 12,745 customers or 22.11 percent, are without power in Sussex County.  In Sparta 2749 or 32 percent remain in the dark.
