SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Sparta Spartan Youth Football program was represented by five eighth-grade players in the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League All-Star last week.  The Spartans playing on the winning North team.  They soundly defeated South 38-0.

Jack Cisko, Luke Szabo, Sam Esposito, Paul Gennat and Billy Quinn were on the field in red jerseys, playing the final chapter of their youth football career. 

During the regular season, the five boys played on the eighth grade Spartan team.  They were coached by Head Coach Doug Brancy, Ron Quinn, Matt Boffa, Matt Porcaro and Mark Mastandrea.

On the All-Star field the boys play offensive and defensive positions.

  • Cisko played lineman and guard,
  • Gennat played running back and outside linebacker,
  • Quinn played center and middle linebacker,
  • Szabo played running back and inside linebacker,
  • Esposito played fullback and running back.

 “The boys are looking forward to playing for coach Frank Marciano in the Sparta High School football program,” parent Christine Quinn said.
