SPARTA, NJ - With four seniors in the starting lineup, Coach Brian Brennan expects them to lead the team to victory each and every game. Guards Jack Simon and Nick Lucas took it upon themselves to lead the team tonight against Mount Olive.

Simon hit three huge three pointers, including one at the halftime buzzer, to spark a team that went on runs to pull away from the Marauders on Wednesday night, 56-37.  Simon ended up with 11 points and three rebounds.

Lucas' huge defensive stops led to many breakaway lay-ups in the second half after a slow beginning to the third quarter.

Sophomore point guard Dante Joefield was decisive with his passes and put in 12 points to help the Spartan guards control the game. When the ball was in Joefield's hands, the lively crowd watched in awe as he sprayed the ball to his teammates.

Two Mount Olive players had a huge night. Jared Traub had 11 points while Ronson Gay added nine of his own. Gay had a huge second quarter but then had a quiet second half.

The Sparta boys are now 11-3 and will play Al-Ghazaly on Friday night at 5 p.m. at home. Mount Olive falls to 3-10.
