St. Patrick’s Weekend Celebration, Irish Cottage Inn, Franklin, New Jersey

This Irish restaurant rocks their annual St. Patrick’s Weekend Celebration, but regulars warn to arrive early, before the “serious drinking” begins.  Here’s their breakdown of Gaelic goings-on:

Friday, March 17th:  Irish breakfast served from 8am-11am, followed by the music of duo Blarney Fife from 1pm-3pm and 4pm-6pm, RaySkiora also plays from noon-closing.  Bagpipers and Irish dancers perform periodically throughout the day, and from 5-8pm there’s a photo booth available.

Saturday, March 18th:  Kick off Saturday with an Irish Breakfast from 8am-11am, or pop in from 2pm-5pm for the sounds of the Blarney Fife duo.  A DJ spins from 10pm-closing, and bagpipers and Irish dancers perform periodically throughout the day.

Sussex County St. Patrick's Day Parade, Newton, New Jersey

Saturday, March 18th starting at 11:30am:  With close to 100 units marching including traditional bagpipes and drum and pipe bands; Irish step dancers; floats; antique vehicles and more, this parade brings out the Irish in everyone! Kids’ll love the Irish theme characters, animals, and free treats.  Line-up commences on Spring Street near the Stuart Street intersection, then proceeds up the street, turning right onto Moran Street and walking to Memory Park.
