SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – The coronavirus has claimed the lives of two more Sussex County residents.  On April 3 Sussex County Freeholder Director Sylvia Petillo announced a 92-year-old man from Sparta and an 80-year-old Newton man have died. 

The Sussex County Department of Health also announce 28 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, brining the total to 213. Testing is still not available in Sussex County.

Testing for coronavirus is still not available in Sussex County.  Anyone who is concerned they may have symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to contact their doctor.  The FEMA testing center at the Bergen Community College campus requires a prescription to be tested.

The New Jersey COVID-19 dashboard reports as of April 3, there have been 29,895 positive tests, 37,608 negative tests and 646 deaths, related to coronavirus. Bergen County continues to have the most patients with 4,866 and 132 deaths, Essex County has 3,067 patients with 118 deaths, .  

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus resource center, The United States currently has 277,828 confirmed cases with 9,823 recovered patients and 7,141 coronavirus deaths.  New York City has reported 1,867 COVID-19 related deaths.
