SPARTA, NJ -  On Nov 22,  at approximately 12:04 a.m. a Sparta man was arrested for DWI after police stopped him for having a headlight out.

Police Officer Kurt Morris stopped 19year-old Shaun Gasser on Lafayette Road.  Officer Morris observed one of the headlights on Gasser’s 2000 Toyota was not functioning.   The officer detected the odor of an alcohol on Mr. Gasser’s breath.  Morris subsequently conducted a series of Field Sobriety Tests.  After failing these tests, Gasser was transported to police headquarters for processing and breath testing.

Gasser was charged with DWI, Careless Driving, Maintenance of Lamps and Failure To Exhibit Documents.  He was released several hours later to a sober adult with a pending court date.  Cpl. Marc Rubino and Police Officer Arlene Lippencott assisted with the investigation.
