STOCKHOLM, NJ – Skylands Ice World is holding daily hockey clinics with Patrick Choules and Adam Mitchell.  For only $30 per player young and aspiring hockey players are invited to walk on, Monday June 26 through Thursday, June 29.

The schedule for Monday and Wednesday:

8 -9:10 a.m. Mite, Squirt and Peewee – Shooting Clinic to improve a player’s release, power and variety of shot selections, increasing a players’ awareness around the net and in the offensive zone.

9:20 to 10:30 a.m.  Squirt and Peewee – Defensive Clinic for both forwards and defensemen focusing on backwards skating with and without the puck, puck control, defensive positioning, limiting time and space and creating offense from sound defensive positioning and gap control.

12:10 to 1:20 p.m. Squirt and Peewee – Offensive Clinic for both forwards and defensemen focusing on creating offe3nse and the ability to react quickly and make smart decisions with the puck, improving players overall ability to recognize offensive opportunity.

1:30 to 2:40 p.m. Squirt and Peewee – Body Contact and Angling Clinic will emphasize the competitive aspect of the game.  Players will engage in small area battles that will force them to work on proper body positioning, body contact, puck protection and physical and mental toughness. 

Schedule for Tuesday and Thursday:

8 to 9:10 a.m. all ages  – Skills Clinic focusing on stickhandling, puck control, passing and shooting.

9:20- 10:30 a.m. all ages _ Power Skating Clinic working to improve overall skating ability including agility, speed, power and quickness

12:10 to 1:20 p.m. all ages – Small Area Games Clinic working to improve overall skill level and decision making with drills to help players adjust to the speed of the game and stay one step ahead.

1:30 to 2:40 p.m. all ages – Competitive Games Clinic will be focused on fun competition. 

There are ongoing goalie clinics also available for walk-ons.  Tom Huber, former Rutgers University ACHA Div 1 goaltender runs the clinics every Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. for $60.   Michael VIshnevetsky, current Rutegers Head Coach and other local Junior A and 18 AAA goal-tending instructors will also be on the ice
